Missing in Action.....

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted. I didn't realise how long until I come on here now.

I've not been well the last couple of weeks and to top it all off, I've now got a nasty flu. If anyone sees my voice wondering around without me please send it home because I miss it! I lost it Thursday afternoon while I was at work and even now 2 whole days later, I'm barely able to make a squeek. The kids and hubby think it's hilarious but I am totally over it!!! *smile*

Anyway.... since I haven't posted anything in awhile I thought that I would share a photo of our front yard decorated for Halloween. The soil we have used for the "graves" will be spread all over the lawn on Monday for top dressing :)

Halloween isn't as big here in Australia as it is in America but every year we seem to have a few extra kids come knocking on our door Trick or Treating.

One of our neighbours organises a street party every year for Halloween. She pops a picture into every ones letter boxes about a week before Halloween. If you are happy having kids knock on your door Trick or Treating then you stick it onto your letter box. The kids know that they are only to knock on the doors of houses that have the sign out. (We also do this for our street Easter Egg hunt every year as well except the kids go from yard to yard searching for an egg each.) Someone normally brings out a BBQ or too and we all have dinner and a couple of drinks together afterwards. It's so much fun and a great way to meet up with the neighbours!!! And doing it this way we don't have any upset neighbours that don't want kids knocking on their door. Maybe you could start a new street tradition as well??? I'd love to hear if you do something like this already in your neighbourhood or maybe now you're thinking of starting.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you all have a great weekend!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Sandra

What a great idea! That was such a thoughtful way of approaching Halloween. Thankfully, we don't get any kids knocking! Our driveway is a 200m hill ... and we live on a farm. Not the best community for trick or treats! Hugs xxaxx
