Hi Everyone!

A big congratulations to everyone at Freshly Made Sketches! As a past designer, I am so excited to help celebrate their 100th sketch today!!!

In celebration of their 100th challenge, they decided to go retro and redo their very 1st sketch. How fun!

Here's the sketch-

and here's my take on it-

I've coloured in this cute LeLo Design - Hippo Birthday stamp with copics and layered it over some Echo Park - Scoot papers. The sentiment is by My Favorite Things and the presents stamp is from Stampin' Up!

Creatalicious Challenges #54 For The Boys

Hi Everyone!

It's the 15th of the month which means it's challenge time over at Creatalicious Challenges!

This month's theme is "For the Boys" so we would love to see all your boy themed creations! It doesn't have to be a card, it can be anything crafty as long as it follows the theme. This challenge is sponsored by Stamp Fairy

I decided to make a card using the very cute Tommy Sports. Very appropriate with my two baseball mad boys! :)

The patterned papers are from a 6x6 paper pad by Echo Park - Scoot and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

You can check out the rest of the DT's awesome inspiration and play along here

Creatalicious Challenges #48

Hi Everyone!

It's challenge time again over at Creatalcious Challenges again and this time Vanessa has a recipe for us all to play along with -

Who likes to FOLLOW A RECIPE??
So, let's use at least these ingredients in our crafts this month:
- 1 ribbon/bow
- 2 buttons
- 2 flowers
- 1 clip/stitch/fastening
- 2 patterned paper
- glitter (any kind)

Here's what I came up with-

I coloured in the Sassy Studio Designs - Sock Hop Sweetie 2 image with my copics. It's a bit hard to tell in this photo but the black background card has been embossed with some sheet music and I've used that as one of the patterned papers.

This challenge is sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs and the prize is 4 digi images for the winner to choose!

I love reading your comments! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Welcome to the first Stamp Spot Blog Hop!

This weekend, we'd love to share with you some inspiration for this months craft challenge (kids) , and also a chance to win some awesome prizes!  At each stop along the way, read the post carefully, as each blog will have a fun question for you to answer... (ie. What are your families traditions at Easter?) Answer the question to go in the draw for the prize from each blog!

If you've come from Jess D's blog, you're on the right track, if not, head to The Stamp Spot blog, and start from the beginning.

I decided to challenge myself to use some washi tape on my tags today. I've got quite a few rolls but never seem to use them!

The first tag is for a little boy who is turning 5

For this tag I've layered some green and white washi tape over the tag to create a patterend background and then I've just trimmed around the the edges to tidy it up. So easy and I love the effect! :) The numbers have been die cut using a MFT - Dienamics die. The number 5 has been cut from bright yellow felt that I had in my stash, to add some contrast and texture.

The next tag will be for my new niece, how is due next month. I can't wait to meet her! :)

I've used the same technique for the background, this time using pink and white chevron washi tape. I coloured in the Kaisercraft owl with Copics and popped it up on some foam dots over a baby onsie MFT Die-namics die. I think it turned out really cute!

Remember, to be in the running for some fantastic blog candy, don't forget to leave a comment on each blog! The winners will be chosen on Monday night.

My question is
"What is your favourite childhood memory?"

Next on the list is the lovely Jessica T.
Good luck!

Creatalicious Challenges #44 Armour ......

Hi Everyone!

It's challenge time over a Creatalicious Challenges again and this month we are celebrating love! "Love is in the air..... Just yesterday we had Valentine's Day and I dare you to create a beautiful piece about LOVE! That includes weddings, hearts, cupids and everything that makes you think about this warm feeling."

This month is sponsored by StampFairy who are kindly giving one looking winner a $10 Gift Certificate to be used in their store.

For my card I have used the very cute StampFairy digital stamps Barry Angel in Love and the sentiment is from Stuffed with Love.

I printed him out on some X-Press It blending card and then die cut it using Spellbinders Labels Fifteen. After I coloured him with my Copics, I placed the die back onto the cut out and sponged some SU! Crumb Cake ink around the image with my Inkssentials blending tool and foam. I love the effect it gives!

The aqua coloured paper and the piece with the sentiment is from a Kaisercraft Homemade Collection 6" paper pad and the pretty pink paper is from a Prima Fairy Belle Collection " paper pad. I used the MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax for the banners down the bottom.  I purchased the doily from a discount homewares shop. They came in a pack of 100 for only $3.95, so I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of them! :)

The ribbon is SU! Crumb Cake seam binding. Tip- I love the look and feel of seam binding but I don't really like how you can see through it when you lay it on the card. To fix this, I layer two pieces on top of each other. Problem fixed!

Here's another angle-

Did you know that Creatalicious Challenges is now offering fortnightly challenges instead of just once a month? So, now you can can have twice the fun playing along with us! Challenges are posted on the 1st, a colour palette challenge and the 15th, a theme challenge. Both challenges will go for a month each, so there's plenty of time to play along :)

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges -
Addicted to Stamps and More - Time for Bingo! I chose Digi, Free (colouring, of course :) and Love

365 Cards Day 45 - let's see a "Love" theme with lots of overlapping elements - (overlapped banner flags and layers)
Milk Coffee Challenge  - Make it Cute!
Moving Along With The Times - Love is in the air
Paper Crafting Journey - love
Crafting by Designs - here's my heart - make a project with hearts but not a Valentine

I love reading your comments! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

You Make My Little Heart Happy.....

Hi Everyone!

There's a big storm rumbling in so I have to make this one quick :)

I had some time to craft today but sadly my mojo went missing. I ended up joining three challenges so I didn't have to make too many decisions myself :)

Freshly Made Sketches #72 - sketch
Inkspirational Challenges #6 - colours (I am absolutely LOVING kraft at the moment!)

and Crazy 4 Challenges #172 - have a theme challenge of hearts "Let's make some cards with hearts on them, but with a twist. Do NOT use red or pink on your cards." (heart is in the sentiment)

This is what I come up with

and here's a different angle

I love reading your comments! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Supplies-
Stamp - MFT Because You're Special
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock - X-Press It Blending Card, SU! Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Perfect Plum and Night of Navy DSP
Other - Copics, paper doilies, foam dots

Heart Banner Card...

Hi Everyone!

The card that I'm sharing today is one that I made for The Stamp Spot February challenge - hearts "we would like to see hearts, all sizes, all colours - they don't have to be the red or pink variety, any project - cards, scrapbook pages, project life pages, banners, wreaths..... anything goes but must have visible hearts. "

I really didn't want to cover up the gorgeous patterned paper from the Prima Fairy Belle 6x6 paper stack so I decided to add a heart banner to the top corner.  The banner was made using the MFT - Die-namics Banner Day Die and the hearts are the negatives from MFT - Die-namics Layered Heart Border. The banners were then tied with some Twine from the Twinery and popped up on foam dots to give it some more dimension. The sentiment is MFT - More Essentials Sentiments (I {heart} that stamp set!) and was stamped in SU! Early Espresso.

Here's another view so you can see the layers-

And the inside-

this one's a bit plain but I think it's still pretty anyway :)

On another note.... is any one doing or planning on doing Project Life this year? You can go here to find out what it is. If you are, would you please leave me a comment with your blog address? I'm just starting out and would love to see what you are creating!! And if you're in Australia, The Stamp Spot is currently taking pre-orders for Project Life here.

Kaisercraft Note Cards.....

Hi Everyone!

I just thought I'd pop in and share some little note cards that I made for The Stamp Spot using some cute Kaisercraft animal stamps.

These gift cards measure 7 1/2cm x 7 1/2cm, just perfect for those smaller gifts. They would make great little lunch box notes for the kids or even for hubby!

I've used a combination of colouring with Copics and paper piecing on each of them so it's great way to use up those little scraps of paper we all having lying around.

Here's a closer look at each of them-

The Hippo

Frog

Elephant

Owl

Kind of cute, aren't they? :)

Finally!

Hi Everyone!

Finally after 4 very long days I'm able to get this blog post up!!! For some reason I've been having a terrible time uploading pic's onto my blog. After lots  of perseverance and tears (and a tantrum or two) they are following showing. Yeah!!! :)

Any how... here's my card-

That beautiful image panel is actually a piece of DP from a Kaisercraft Vintage Timeless paper pad. The original pattern was just a line drawing so to add definition I've coloured in with my Copics. I've also layered the image panel over a piece of SU! lace so just the edge is showing to add some definition and add to the vintage look. I {love} how it turned out!!!

Here's another angle -

edited to add - I forgot to show you all a photo of the inside, so here it is :)

I'm entering this into the following challenges-
4 Crafty Chicks #126 - Buttons, Buttons .... Who has Buttons?
